Rice is really a cultural part of the Filipinos. But aside from rice, there are a lot of alternatives for it but the problem is that the alternatives are also more expensive than rice.

In this country, there's a race of going up except the wages.

To Batang Buotan: Its sad, but true. A lot of the rice we need are wasted everyday and we are all to blame. We should watch our eating habits and take only what we need so that others may have their share. Its not only healthy, but during these hard times, patriotic too.

“there is just not enough land” to plant rice. too many people to eat. Many of them wasted rice.

Rice crisis will lead to social unrest. Filipinos can survive with the sea of "corrupt practices" but never when no rice left to eat. Filipinos will surely rise up!
